Amazon Web Services may be down for thousands of users

Amazon Web Services (AWS) suffered an outage that affected thousands of users on 13 June. Downdetector reported that over 10,000 users encountered issues accessing the service, with the AWS website worst impacted. A message on the AWS dashboard explained AWS Lambda was the root cause of the issue, which affected services in the US-East-1 region. The dashboard posted updates throughout the day, and AWS said it was working to mitigate the disruption.
