Japan's privacy regulator has instructed Microsoft-backed AI start-up OpenAI not to collect sensitive data without people's permission. Japan is the third-largest source of traffic to OpenAI's website, and CEO Sam Altman recently met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss the company's expansion in the country.
