Nokia to Oppo: Learn to play by rules

The Indian Supreme Court dismissed Oppo’s plea against a Delhi High Court order to pay Nokia royalties of 23% of the amount generated from sales in India, due to patent infringement. Nokia had alleged that Oppo sold 77 million devices in India over two years without paying the company. In response, Oppo filed appeals to the Supreme Court but was rejected, causing further hardship to them. Oppo claimed Nokia received undue advantage and unfair obligations were imposed on the company. Nokia has also won injunctions against Oppo in Germany for similar reasons.
