The managing director of Bharti Airtel, Gopal Vittal, received an annual remuneration of Rs 16.84 crore for FY2023, which included a salary and allowances of Rs 10.09 crore and performance-linked incentives of Rs 6.74 crore. The figure did not include a perquisite value of Rs 13.78 crore towards the value of stock options. Notably, Vittal's compensation was slightly higher than that of Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal's Rs 16.77 crore. Vittal was optimistic about the company's NSA for 5G and said it had helped the company avoid the expense of 700 MHz spectrum.
