Former Apple design head may work with ChatGPT creator on a new AI device

Former Apple design chief Jony Ive and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are reportedly collaborating on the development of an AI hardware device. The purpose of the device is unclear, but it is expected to incorporate AI technology. Altman has previously worked with Thomas Meyerhoffer, the first designer hired by Ive at Apple, on a cryptocurrency project. SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son is also said to be involved in the discussions. OpenAI, which is partially owned by Microsoft, aims to achieve $1 billion in revenue by 2023 and is in talks to sell shares that could increase its valuation to $80-90 billion.
