Nvidia is planning to develop chips tailored for Chinese customers in order to continue selling its GPUs in China without violating US export restrictions. The company aims to retain its reported $5 billion worth of chip orders from China by designing chips that comply with the new rules. Nvidia has reportedly worked on three new chips, including the HGX H20, the L20, and the L2, which meet the computing power limit set by the regulations. Chinese companies are also said to be developing their own semiconductors, but some customers may still prefer Nvidia for its strong software support for AI development.
